Producing world-class Quality products at Swissturn USA forms the foundation of our business. Our success is rooted in the understanding that we must provide the best overall value to our customers, which starts with superior quality. We know and fully understand that our customers, whether OEMs, tier one, or tier two, expect and deserve nothing less than a perfect product.
To drive superior quality, we embrace the idea of quality and quality systems as a core part of our culture. Providing quality components starts at the beginning of the commercial engagement process, moving into design, manufacturing, and assembly, all the way through shipping. Post-sale and shipment follow-up is also critical to be sure we have met and or exceeded all customer expectations.
Quality, with our team, begins at the very outset of the sales process. We learn as much about our customers’ expectations, their customers’ expectations, their markets, and what is most critical and important to them and their products. While we have years of experience and expertise, we make no unnecessary assumptions. Next, during the quotation phase, our team conducts an internal NPD review, (New Product Development), to engage all partners. We include our QC Department, Engineering Team, Estimating Engineers, our Operations and Manufacturing teams. At this stage, we examine the customers’ needs and explore all conceivable options to meet or exceed those needs while providing the best overall value and price. We examine materials, quality requirements, delivery requirements, assembly requirements if needed, volumes, packaging requirements, shipping options, and more. We also review this entire process in anticipation of potential failure modes (FMEA, DFMEA) to better understand and optimize our manufacturing approach. At this juncture, we may reach back out to our customers in an advisory capacity with suggestions and solutions to avoid potential quality or manufacturing issues. Many of our customers have come to rely on Swissturn as partners to work with them to optimize part design and manufacturability of their key components.
Our Quality Management System
Swissturn uses a wide variety of both standard and state-of-the-art metrology equipment, ranging from CMMS’, laser, and optical measuring equipment to more standard gauge pins and other handheld instruments. These measuring devices are used by Swissturn Machinists, Inspectors, Engineers, etc. Swissturn’s inspection equipment and gauging is calibrated by third-party experts on a pre-scheduled basis to ensure that machined components are always measured using fully certified and calibrated equipment.
Our Certifications
Swissturn USA, Inc. is ISO 9001:2015 Registered, ITAR Registered, and CMMC Compliant. Employees are trained in these work procedures and work instructions to ensure they are competent to perform their duties as required to achieve the quality expectations our key customers require. In the unlikely event of a quality concern, a root cause analysis is performed. If needed, corrective actions are implemented, training or retraining occurs, and procedures, policies, or both are revised.
Swissturn fully understands the cost of inferior quality and has developed an internal culture of accountability. As an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan company), and as a matter of culture, every employee at Swissturn is aligned with our quality policy and has a personal stake in assuring that the best possible quality is always delivered to our customers.
