ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE

J.I. Morris Miniature Fasteners, a Division of Swissturn USA, is committed to environmental accountability and responsibility.  We are dedicated to supplying products that meet environmental regulations and reduce our carbon footprint.  Our state-of-the-art facility uses solar-powered energy, and we recycle 100% of our leftover brass, steel, and plastic scrap materials every year, equating to tons of recycling annually.

RoHS 3 (EU Directive 2015/863) and RoHS (2002/95/EC)

The European Council substantially revised the RoHS directive (2002/95/EC) and issued a new directive (2011/65/EU). This new requirement is known as RoHS (Recast) or RoHS-2. No changes under RoHS-2 adversely affect the status of any previously reported part numbers supplied by J.I. Morris Miniature Fasteners or its parent company, Swissturn USA. All parts previously certified to be RoHS (2002/95/EC) compliant are also RoHS-2 (2011/65/EU) compliant.

REACH (EC No 1907/2006) and the SVCH List

The substances on the SVHC list have been periodically updated by ECHA.  Staff at J.I. Morris Miniature Fasteners, Division of Swissturn USA, constantly monitor this information and compare the content in relation to the products we manufacture.  To date, all of our products continue to be fully REACH compliant.

CONFLICT-FREE MINERALS

J.I. Morris Miniature Fasteners, Division of Swissturn USA, shares the concern that minerals mined from the DRC may be funding conflicts of a global interest.  We support the accountability effort to ensure that this material does not make its way into the supply chain.  When formally requested, we will complete a materials/minerals traceability process.  We only use materials from certified conflict-free sources.  Should certification be required we will report (upon request) using an EICC Spreadsheet in accordance with the EICC conflict-free smelter program for compliance reporting.  All requests should be directed to the contact at the bottom of this page.

CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 COMPLIANCE STATEMENT

California’s Proposition 65, also called the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, is a Right to Know law regarding Californians being able to make informed decisions to protect themselves from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

Some Products sold by Swissturn USA and our J.I. Morris Miniature Fastener division contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Some products sold by Swissturn USA and J.I. Morris Miniature Fasteners may contain these chemicals in a smaller amount than Proposition 65’s concern, however, we have chosen to issue this warning on all products that contain any amount of the chemicals listed below out of an abundance of caution and because our customers have the right to know. For a complete list of Proposition 65 chemicals contained in Swissturn USA manufactured products, click here.
