Swissturn has more than 40 Star brand CNC Swiss screw machines and continually adds to our capacity. Our Swiss-style CNC machines have automatic bar loaders, sub-spindles, front and rear live tooling, and mist collectors. Many have high-pressure coolant. Our newest machines include HFT (high-frequency turning), an option Star offers that allows us to break the chips on stringy materials. Live tooling allows us to turn and mill parts on a single machine.
We have various machine sizes, some of which we have outlined here. Our smallest machines are our SR-10J model machines. These have a 10 mm bar capacity (3/8”) and are extremely fast. We use these machines for very high volume work of small parts. We also use these machines to produce our miniature fastener line for our J.I. Morris Miniature Fastener Division.
Another group of our machines is our SR20 machines, including SR20 Type III, Type IV, and SR20J. These are our workhorses. They have a 20 mm (3/4”) bar capacity. Our 20 mm machines produce larger parts, often in medium to low volumes.
Some of our larger machines are 32mm (1 ¼”) bar capacity machines. We often use these machines to manufacture large-diameter aluminum and stainless steel parts and very tough machining materials.
