Capabilities

Swissturn was founded in 1987 and originally located at One Main Street, Whitinsville, MA, on the first floor of the former Whitin Machine Works building in the Blackstone Valley.  Through the years, Swissturn has advanced machining technology from the 1950s vintage Peterman and Strohm cam machines to the more modern and technically advanced Star CNC Swiss screw machines.

The Star CNC Swiss screw machines are known for their precision and high-quality machining capabilities allowing the ability to perform complex and precision machining operations with exceptional accuracy.  They are specifically designed to manufacture small, intricate parts, offer high levels of control over the machining process, and can produce components with tight tolerances, intricate geometries, and superior surface finishes.

Our Swiss-style CNC machines have automatic bar loaders which allow the machines to run unattended (“lights out”).  Many of our machines have high-pressure pumps which assist in the lubrication of the tooling which can extend tool life, help dissipate heat and flush chips away from the cutting zone, which can prevent chips from interfering with the cutting process and from damaging tools or parts being manufactured.
