Environmental Compliance

Swissturn/USA’s commitment to environmental accountability is our global responsibility. We are committed to supplying products that meet the environmental control requirements of all our customers.

RoHS-2 (2011/65/EU) and RoHS (2002/95/EC)

The European Council made a substantial revision to the RoHS directive (2002/95/EC) and issued directive (2011/65/EU). This new requirement is known as RoHS (Recast), or RoHS-2. There are no changes under RoHS-2 that adversely affect the status of any previous reported part numbers supplied by Swissturn/USA. All parts previously certified to be RoHS (2002/95/EC) compliant are also RoHS-2 (2011/65/EU) compliant.

As a contract manufacturer, Swissturn/USA is not responsible for the design requirements for the products we make. Should RoHS certification be a requirement for your products, this should be specified on the print, purchase order or both to ensure compliance. Should you require a letter of certification for RoHS compliance for specific part numbers as supplied by Swissturn/USA, that request should be directed to the contact at the bottom of this page.

REACH (EC No 1907/2006) and the SVCH List.

The substances on the SVHC list have been periodically updated by ECHA. Staff at Swissturn/USA constantly monitor this information and compares the content in relation to the products we manufacture. To date, all of our products continue to be fully REACH compliant.

DRC Conflict-Free Minerals

Swissturn/USA shares the concern that minerals mined from the DRC may be funding conflicts of a global interest. We support the accountability effort to ensure that this material does not make its way into the supply chain. When formally requested, Swissturn/USA will complete a materials/minerals traceability process. As Swissturn/USA is not responsible for the particular material or mineral content specifications for the products that we manufacture, when conflict metals are specified for use in the products our customers are purchasing from Swissturn/USA, Swissturn/USA only uses materials from certified conflict-free sources. Should certification be required we will report using a customer supplied (or their agent) EICC Spreadsheet in accordance with the EICC conflict-free smelter program for compliance reporting. That request should be directed to the contact at the bottom of this page.
