Photonics is often considered a subset of Optics, and deals with the physical science of light waves, typically generation, detection, and manipulation of light. Light has a dual nature, having characteristics consistent with both electromagnetic waves and particles, also known as photons. Photonics specifically focuses on those photons and equipment that generates, manipulates, and utilizes them in real-world applications. As a result, a wide range of technologies are used in photonics research and applications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
